Yoga pants bubble

pexels-photo-374632.jpegI live in a yoga pants bubble. If you are reading this, probably you are too.

Yoga pants, turmeric lattes, a cleaner, Psycle, organic food, eco tourism, cycling, art classes, ethical bags. And private school, violin lessons and experiential days out for our kids.

The new spending habits of the aspirational class. A new inconspicuous way to show our wealth.

A way of spending our money that makes us feel better about our choices. A way of spending our money that perpetuates wealth inequality more than ever.

We all need to think about this carefully. I certainly do.

Thanks to Elizabeth Currid-Halkett and Shankar Vedantum for their chat on the Hidden Brain as the inspiration behind this post.
